This study examines Open Radio Access Network (Open-RAN) technology in depth, employing a mixed-methods approach that combines quantitative surveys of 50 industry professionals with qualitative analysis of 18 commercial deployments. It examines how Open-RAN can transform the telecommunications industry. The study reveals that Open-RAN significantly enhances network performance, achieving 31.6% higher throughput and 25% lower latency compared to standard RAN systems. It also cuts operating expenses by 20% by using several vendors and virtualization. However, 68% of the professionals questioned said that there are still major problems, such as interoperability issues in setups with several vendors and cybersecurity threats that come with decentralized components. The study makes three important contributions to the state of the art: (1) it shows that Open-RAN does improve per formance in real-world 5G deployments, (2) it creates a list of interoperability barriers with suggested standardization metrics, and (3) it changes the way modern society think about security for RAN Intelligent Controllers and xApps by moving toward zero-trust security frameworks. These results fill in an important gap between theoretical models and real-world situations, giving telecom operators, legislators, and standards organizations useful information. Some areas of future study include finding the best ways to save energy, testing for 6G readiness, and making rules that are the same across borders to deal with geopolitical fragmentation. This study lays the groundwork for scalable and long-lasting Open-RAN adoption in next-generation networks by combining technological, economic, and security aspects.

The research aims to estimate the significance of industry areas in making Mexico a better location for businesses from around the world to relocate their operations. The study looks at secondary data from nine global companies in the tech, airplane, car, and consumer goods fields using a qualitative-exploratory method. Companies want to know how perks from the state level work in real groups. When people in the same clique work together, share knowledge, and link the supply line, they save money. In the long run, this helps Mexico reach its goals. Furthermore, the USMCA enhances Mexico’s integration with the US market. The study also talks about some major issues, including a severe lack of STEM talent (country figures show that only about 35% of Mexican graduates focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) areas, which is not enough to meet the needs of the cluster) and ongoing problems with infrastructure that keep people from reaching their full potential. Porter’s diamond model and the global value chain (GVC) theory are used in this study to back up what has already been said about nearshoring. It also shows that the amount of cluster growth for each company is very different. If Mexico wants to move up in the GVC chart, it needs to change how its government works. These changes should be read by small and medium-sized businesses. People who own the houses should fix them up and teach their workers new things. The research works close to home lets us plan trips to places that are still growing. This research learned things from this study that modern society can use beyond school.

The onset of the fifth industrial revolution presents significant challenges in the interaction between organizations and people, positioning cybersecurity as a strategic pillar to safeguard infrastructure, data, and collaborators. This study aimed to identify the positive factors that the dark web can contribute to a corporate cybersecurity strategy, focusing on the supervision, monitoring, and evaluation processes. Using a qualitative-exploratory approach, a survey applied to cybersecurity experts was used to gather key perspectives and feedback. The findings revealed the absence of robust policies, processes, and procedures to ensure business continuity, highlighting critical risks associated with the lack of mitigation and contingency plans in the face of potential cyberattacks. In conclusion, the strategic use of tools and approaches derived from the dark web can contribute to strengthening business cybersecurity, provided that clear policies are implemented and aligned with business continuity objectives.
IoMT Device Performance in Chronic Disease Management: A Mixed-Methods Clinical Validation in a Public LMIC Healthcare System

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) holds promise for chronic disease management, yet evidence from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) remains scarce, limiting equitable digital health policy development. No previous studies have clinically validated IoMT device performance against electronic health records (EHRs) within Central American public healthcare systems, leaving assumptions about consumer device adequacy untested in resource-constrained settings. This mixed-methods study evaluated IoMT implementation in Costa Rica's Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) system, examining (1) diagnostic accuracy stratification between consumer and clinical-grade devices, (2) healthcare system interoperability challenges, and (3) cost implications of false alerts. Among 50 chronic disease patients, consumer wearables demonstrated 43% sensitivity for cardiac event detection versus 92% for clinical-grade devices (p<0.001). Only 25% of consumer devices integrated with CCSS EHRs versus 100% of clinical-grade devices, requiring 22 minutes of manual data entry per encounter. False positives occurred in 12% of consumer-device alerts, costing an average of $35 per event. Qualitative analysis revealed that 45% of participants overestimated consumer-device diagnostic capabilities. These findings challenge assumptions about universal consumer-technology applicability in LMICs and support tiered implementation frameworks. As Costa Rica prepares for its Digital Health Act 2025, evidence-based device categorization, interoperability investments, and patient education are essential for equitable IoMT integration.

This study uses an explanatory mixed-methods design to develop and validate a DT–PM (digital twins-project management) maturity framework. To this effect, it combines a cross-sectional survey of 200 professionals working in PM, six in-depth case studies, and, as part of a design science research (DSR) cycle, a representative sample of individuals working in PM. The results extend the technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework by incorporating time-based project factors such as stakeholder movement and workflow plasticity. Taken together, these factors account for 71% of the difference in implementation success. The analysis reveals significant sociotechnical contradictions with direct effects on PM practice, namely an authority paradox and a 15% threshold phenomenon for initial project viability, which provides managers with a clear way to assess whether benefits are being realized. The maturity framework validated in this study is an organized diagnostic tool that ensures that DT capabilities are aligned with project lifecycle stages and PM knowledge areas. This study concludes that successful DT adoption in the cases examined entails not only upgrading technology but also addressing sociotechnical alignment. This involves moving from a technology-centered implementation towards adaptive project governance and organizational learning in environments with limited resources.
