MentorsGate proposes empanelment with UGC and Ministry of Education as a strategic NEP 2020 enabler, bridging the gap between institutions and global academic expertise.
Background
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 envisions a transformative shift in India's higher education, emphasizing multidisciplinary learning, internationalization, research and innovation, and outcome-based education.
While many colleges aspire to align with NEP mandates, implementation capacity remains limited in areas such as interdisciplinary project-based learning, international collaborations, access to expert mentors, and structured certification of learning outcomes.
MentorsGate: NEP Enabler Platform
MentorsGate is a technology-enabled academic mentorship ecosystem that connects Indian students and faculty with verified global Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), research mentors from reputed universities, industry professionals for experiential learning, and tools for project execution, certification, and reporting.
Proposed Collaboration with UGC / Ministry of Education
We propose that MentorsGate be endorsed or empaneled as a national support platform for Higher Education Institutions. Through this collaboration, institutions can access structured mentorship, drive NEP-aligned academic initiatives, strengthen NAAC/NIRF readiness, and enable outcome-based learning.
Benefits of Empanelment
For UGC and Ministry of Education: Scalable NEP implementation support, national dashboard for outcomes, enhanced global positioning of India's research ecosystem, and promotion of public-private collaboration in education reform.
For Higher Education Institutions: Access to global mentors, interdisciplinary research guidance, verified student certification, structured skill development, and evidence-based NAAC/NIRF improvements.
Suggested Deliverables
- Interdisciplinary research projects and global co-mentorship programs
- Capstone project certifications with international experts
- Student-faculty mentoring circles and innovation labs
- Publication and research support for scholars
- Faculty Development Programs and expert-led sessions
- Outcome dashboards and NEP-aligned reporting tools
Call to Action
We seek the opportunity to partner with UGC, AICTE, and the Ministry of Education in accelerating India's journey toward becoming a global knowledge hub, as envisioned in NEP 2020.
